This is not a “G80” – it is a limited slip “posi” type differential.
Each carrier is totally disassembled, the old side bearings are removed, it is cleaned and then all the parts are inspected.
Once disassembled, we check for the following:
- Worn out case holes
- Worn out clutch packs
- Spun bearing journals
- Worn or galled cross shaft and pitted side or spider gears
Worn out parts are replaced and then the carrier is carefully re-assembled, setting the internal end play back to within Eaton specifications.
A new set of side bearings are installed along with new bearing races.
